United Airways (BD) Ltd., a leading private sector airline launched a new Dhaka-London route on Saturday, the first private airline to operate flight on this route.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader inaugurated the Dhaka-London flight at the Zia International Airport in the capital, Dhaka on Saturday morning.
The one way special fare for Dhaka-London is BDT 33683 (inclusive of all taxes) and return fare is US$ 695 (exclusive of all taxes).

With the launching of three new flights to Kochi, Kolkata and Trivandrum, Malaysia-based low cost carrier AirAsia is set to become the most connected non-local airline in India.
AirAsia is also planning flights to nine new destinations in India soon.

Extra pay is awarded when American reaches monthly customer service targets.
American Airlines has awarded $10.6 million — or about $150 per person — to 71,000 employees for improved operational performance and for helping the company reach customer satisfaction goals, airline executives said Friday.
American's Tulsa Maintenance & Engineering Center employs 7,000 people, including 6,000 aircraft mechanics and related work groups.
All 71,000 American Airlines employees received $150 awards, and it also applies to the Tulsa maintenance base as well -Andrea Huguely

The passenger in question claims he put a handbag with VND200 million ($12,088.92) into a luggage compartment on flight VN279 from Hanoi to Dong Hoi in Quang Binh Province, but when the plane landed at Dong Hoi Airport the money was gone, a Vietnam Airline spokesman said.
Following a complaint by the passenger, whose name wasn't revealed, other flight attendants searched for the money as the plane continued on to Ho Chi Minh City.

In a bid to woo customers to its first and executive classes on international routes, national air-carrier, Air India, has offered a 20 per cent discount to senior citizens.
Senior citizens (65-years and above), are now eligible for a 20 per cent discount for travel in first and executive classes on international flights, an Air India release said on Saturday.
The discount offer, however, is available only on tickets purchased from the airline's reservation offices in India on the basic fare of market

For the first year of its existence, MO-X was embroiled in controversy.
Founders Norm Ruebling and Brent "Doc" Moore started the local airport shuttle business in August 1999 shortly after leaving Tiger Air Express, which also offered airport shuttle service.
Tiger Air challenged MO-X's request for operating authority, and its parent company later sued Ruebling and Moore, claiming they breached noncompetition agreements.
